Flavored Mocha Mix for #Handcraftededibles

In an effort to make all of her holiday gifts this year, Camilla at Culinary Adventures with Camilla invited some of her favorite foodie bloggers to share recipes for hand-crated edibles. Over the course of the next twelve weeks, we'll be sharing recipes from homemade spice blends (last week's theme) to charcuterie trays and everything in between. Hope you'll follow along for inspiration. You can find out more information, including the schedule: here.

This week, we're sharing our favorite jarred mixes. Think jarred soup mixes or bread mixes. I am a sucker for anything in a mason jar. How about you?

I love this mix because you can throw it together in moments. It is great to take as a hostess gift to a holiday party or to send to school with your kids for the teacher. It is also great to have in your cupboard, tied up with a bow, for those occasions when someone shows up with an unexpected gift for you and you want to reciprocate.  I flavored my mix with almond and vanilla extracts.  I think it would be lovely with orange or peppermint extracts as well.  You can use any flavor you have on hand or none at all.

This Fall, it seemed like the Mason Jar Mugs were all the rage.  I picked up a half dozen of them because I thought they were cute and figured I would find find a crafty use for them.  They were perfect to fill with this mix and give as a gift this Holiday Season.  Add a little card instructing to add 2-3 T. to each cup of hot milk for serving.

Add a rafia bow or a colorful ribbon and you are good to go.  Feeling extra creative?  Paint the recipients name on the outside of the mug with food safe paint or perhaps a beautiful, Christmas design.  You can quilt a top for inside the ring with some festive material or just use some decorative scissor to cut a piece of material that hangs out under the ring.  Feeling crunched for time?  Throw it in a gift bag with some tissue paper and out the door you go.

    1. Enjoy it Cam, I'm thinking this almond flavored mocha might need a shot of Amaretto in it as we sit around the campfire or fireplace
